Actor and former U.S. senator Fred Thompson is said to be seriously considering a run for the GOP presidential nomination (a scenario die-hard Law & Order fans might not welcome, as it could force many episodes of the show off the air). A recent poll showing Thompson in third place among GOP presidential hopefulshas ramped up speculation about whether Thompson will jump in.
