How Will NASA Keep Finding Earth-Like Planets?

A huge, sunflower-shaped spacecraft may do much of the work.

Dubbed a “starshade,” a new sunflower-like spacecraft will team up with a space-based telescope to block light from a star, allowing only the light from nearby planets to enter the telescope.
