Worst/Best Call Ever!
The biggest Broncos and Seahawks fans on Twitter, side by side.
The outcome of Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup between the NFL’s top-ranked offense and its top-ranked defense is pretty much a tossup. The contest over which team has the best fans, though, already seems determined. The presumption heading into the big game is that Seattle—with the team’s historically noisy crowd, its stronger representation at the Meadowlands, its proud record of lovable sports futility, and its adorable babies—deserves that prize. But Broncos fans have a credible case of their own. One graphic designer from Denver put together this convincing infographic to illustrate that the Broncos lead the Seahawks in historic home attendance, home attendance in .500 or losing seasons, home winning percentage, and consecutive sellouts.
For those of us who don’t have a bird or a horse in this fight, the Super Bowl gives us an opportunity to stand in judgment over the Seahawk and Bronco nations. Watch the game with the Twitter module below, and you’ll be able to determine once and for all which fan base is more annoying. You’ll also be able to enjoy the contrast between winning and losing, with the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat—and love and loathing of the referees—pingponging back and forth all night long. You’ll find 50 Seattle fans on the left, including Dan Savage, Rainn Wilson, Sir Mix-a-Lot, and @THELadyCHawkFan. On the right are 50 Denver supporters, ranging from John Elway to Don Cheadle to Dana Perino to @Broncoholic247. May the best fans win.
