Two new books explore the myth, the majesty, and the maleficence of the New York Yankees. One, Damn Yankees, is written by an array of reporters, humorists, and novelists. The other, Pinstripe Empire, is written by the Yankees’ former PR director Marty Appel. Which paints a truer picture of life in the House That Ruth Built? You be the judge.
