Why running backs are overrated.

The Dolphins have lucked into the perfect situation. Williams and his $3.7 million salary are gone just as overuse in 2002 and 2003 left him burned out and ineffectual as an every-down running back. Williams' former backups, Travis Minor and Sammy Morris, will provide an adequate and inexpensive inside-outside combination in his stead. But like every other team, Miami will win or lose depending on how well they pass the ball and play defense. Still, if the Dolphins don't make the playoffs, Minor and Morris will no doubt get the blame, and Miami will sign another Ricky Williams—an overpaid, overrated albatross.
