The Week in Podcasts

Another way to listen to Slate’s new audio offerings.

Over the past two weeks, several Slate readers have written to say they’d like to listen to our new podcasts, even though they don’t have digital audio players. Your wish is our command.

Of course, you can still subscribe (for free) to our weekday podcasts through iTunes, or by pasting the Slate podcast URL (http://www.slate.com/podcast/) directly into the podcatcher of your choice. But now, you can also stream or download the MP3 files directly to your computer.

Click on any of the links below to play the audio:

Ranch Dressing: Why do Americans love it so much? By Brendan I. Koerner.

Adultery’s Golden Age: When the press went to bed with Wendell Willkie. By Timothy Noah.

The Waking of the President: Who decides when to rouse the commander in chief? By Daniel Engber.

How Do You Seal a Nuclear Plant? With stickers, metal disks, and fiber optics. By Daniel Engber.

Green-Collar Crime: How I stopped an Internet sex hoax. By Cyrus Farivar.

Salmon: Swimming Downstream. By Bryan Curtis.
