Podcast for America is your inside look at the increasingly absurd process of running for president. Your hosts are Mark Leibovich, national correspondent for New York Times Magazine, and Alex Wagner of MSNBC.

This week, with her poll numbers declining and summer winding down, Hillary Clinton escaped to the Hamptons. Vacationing on the coast has been a Clinton tradition for years, but can Hillary still call herself a defender of the working class while vacationing in the land of the 1 percent?

Next, President Obama’s entourage rolls through Alaska with a mission to highlight the effects of climate change. How will he accomplish this feat? By renaming Mt. McKinley and appearing on the survival reality TV show Running Wild With Bear Grylls. Is this a brilliant media-savvy campaign or an indication that Obama has entered the devil-may-care stage of his presidency?

Lastly, not to be outdone by Deez Nuts, Kanye West declared at the MTV Video Music Awards that he would run for president in 2020. Is this a sign of the end of days? Possibly.
