This is a jack-of-all-trades position for a tech-savvy person comfortable doing everything from coming up with viral story ideas, to contributing to our newsblog, to running social-media feeds. Great editorial judgment and ability to write clean, fast, and clear copy is a must. This is a six-month-long position reporting to Slate's Innovations Editor out of our New York office. You would need to start no later than the end of July. Please send a résumé and very brief statement of interest ASAP to slatestjob@gmail.com. Deadline is midnight EDT on Sunday night, July 10.

Slate's DoubleX is looking for a part-time contractor to help manage the "XX Factor" blog. We need someone with a keen eye for which stories we should be covering. This person should have experience writing and blogging about a range of issues but with a particular interest in hard news and politics. If you'd like to apply, please send your résumé and three relevant clips to doublexmail@gmail.com.
