Miguel, Ma Belle

The racial ugliness under Miguel Estrada’s now-withdrawn nomination.

Miguel Estrada, President Bush’s controversial nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., withdrew his name from consideration this morning after a lengthy filibuster by Senate Democrats and an increasingly rancorous national debate about the role of judicial ideology in the confirmation process.
