The Case Against Wen Ho Lee

On Friday, former Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist Wen Ho Lee was arrested and indicted on 59 counts of mishandling classified information. He is charged with downloading some of the United States’ most highly guarded nuclear secrets and transferring them to portable tapes, several of which have not been found. Although the FBI has not uncovered evidence that Lee gave this information to foreign governments, the indictment charges that this was his intent. Except for the arrest, little about the case has changed since August, when this “Explainer” article provided a synopsis of the investigation and allegations.
