Tuesday, Turkish police captured the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan at the Greek Embassy in Kenya. In retaliation, Kurdish supporters have stormed Greek embassies across Europe and taken hostages. Several demonstrators have even set themselves on fire in protest. Two years ago, David Plotz answered the question "Who are the Kurds?" and explained why their cause has inspired such fanaticism.
