64. JOHN H. SYKES--$5 million to QUEENS COLLEGE in Charlotte, N.C. The gift will be used to build an addition to the McColl School of Business. Sykes is president and CEO of Sykes Enterprises, an information technology outsourcing company.
64. RICHARD L. THOMAS--$5 million to KENYON COLLEGE in Gambier, Ohio, to fund the Richard L. Thomas Chair in Creative Writing and to provide an endowment for scholarships. The gift consists of an outright $1.5 million for the chair and a deferred gift of $3.5 million for the scholarship endowment. Thomas is an alumnus and trustee of the college. He retired as chairman of First Chicago NBD Corp. in 1996.
