The Slate Store Is Open for Business

If you’ve always wanted a wicked Slate coffee mug or a wry Gabfest T-shirt, here’s your chance.

You read the magazine. You listen to the podcasts. You follow the Twitter feed. Now wear the T-shirt!

Today we’re launching a new online store—store.slate.com—featuring Slate-themed products as well as other products we suspect you’ll love because we love them.

There are T-shirts for Culture Gabfest fans and for fans of some of our favorite shows. (Are you a Lannister or a Stark?)  There will be mugs and journals and iPad cases and clever gift ideas. And books! Of course there are books. You can find books by Slate authors, books that come recommended by Dear Prudence herself, and books that Slate writers particularly love.

Perhaps you’re thinking to yourself: Those Slate folks are great journalists, but can they run a store? Fear not. We’ve partnered with Mental Floss, which, in addition to being a fascinating magazine, has a famously great store full of delightful products and a long track record of fantastic customer service.

We hope that you’ll stop by and check it out. Buy Emily Bazelon’s excellent book about bullying, Sticks and Stones, and while you’re there, cheer up your favorite Breaking Bad fan with a sartorial tribute to Walt. And come back and visit in November, too. Every month we’ll be adding new products. If you want updates from the store, please sign up for our newsletter here.
