A Real Simple Solution

The papers today note that Susan Wyland has been forced to resign as top editor of Real Simple, a new magazine puzzled over in a previous installment of “Moneybox.” Norman Pearlstine, the editor in chief of Time Inc., which publishes Real Simple, has apparently asked Isolde Motley to oversee Real Simple. The Wall Street Journal notes: “Ms. Motley, a favorite of Mr. Pearlstine’s, is often drafted as a problem-solver, most recently at Life magazine.” Life, of course, ceased regular publication with its May issue. Problem solved!
