In a Jan. 20 “Brow Beat” post, Forrest Wickman misidentified the dog in the music video for Juliet’s “My First Hardcore Song” as “Robin.” The dog’s name is Robert.

In a Jan. 19 post on "The Slatest," Josh Voorhees mischaracterized the gaps between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney in relation to the polls' margin of error.

In the Jan. 18 “Explainer,” Brian Palmer omitted the fact that some nations have laws requiring a captain to remain on board to help evacuate passengers, although these are rarely enforced and don’t specify exactly when the captain is permitted to leave.

In a Jan. 13 “Culturebox,” Tom Shone wrote that Bill Murray had never been nominated for an Oscar. He has never won an Oscar, but was nominated for his performance in Lost in Translation. He also misspelled the title of the film Gandhi.

In a Jan. 12 "Explainer," Brian Palmer referred to Christian clerics generically as "holy men." In many Christian denominations, women can and do serve as clerics.

In the Jan. 10 “Science,” Dave Johns misidentified former Attorney General Edwin Meese as a former surgeon general.

In a Dec. 21, 2011, “XX Factor” post, Jessica Grose wrote that former Philadelphia Daily News sports columnist Bill Conlin had been accused of sexual assaults in Pennsylvania. The assaults were alleged to have taken place in New Jersey.
