After the Palm Beach Post claimed there was a chance David Beckham would name his proposed Miami soccer team the Miami Vice, a furor predictably broke out online. “David Beckham isn't really naming his MLS team Miami Vice, is he?” a Los Angeles Times headline scolded. Twitter overflowed with ’80s jokes. Beckham’s publicist soon chimed in, crushing dreams and claiming the story is “hogwash.”
As all sons and daughters of Crockett and Tubbs know, there could be no greater name for this team than the Miami Vice. Beckham, if you really want to help yourself win over suspicious investors, this name could be your most valuable asset. We offer the video above as proof and tribute.
