This time, Slate movie critic Dana Stevens tries to convince Kois that onetime front-runner Spotlight still deserves the Academy’s top award. The movie is a quiet masterpiece about an incredibly important issue, and as the eponymous team closes in on the Catholic Church, it’s as thrilling as any action movie. Will the Academy do the right thing, or will it once again reward empty flash?
