Shoot the Recession

Terms and conditions.

By sharing your photo with Slate’s “Shoot the Recession” group on Flickr, you agree to grant Slate, free of charge, permission to use your photo (including modifying and adapting it for operational and editorial reasons) on slate.com.

In granting Slate permission to use your photo, you will not knowingly post content that violates the copyright, trademark, patent, or other intellectual property right of any third party, and you will remove the same should you discover that you have violated this provision (or inform us in order to remove this content if you are unable to). Likewise, you may not post content that is libelous, defamatory, obscene, or abusive; that violates a third party’s right to privacy; that otherwise violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law; or that is otherwise inappropriate or not related to the story, photo group, or other part of the site where you posted said content.

Slate reserves the right not to accept your photo for any reason at our discretion, including the ability to remove it from the “Shoot the Recession” group on Flickr if it breaches any of the terms above.

If you do not want to grant Slate the permissions set out above on these terms, please do not share your photo with the “Shoot the Recession” group on Flickr.

Finally, don’t endanger yourself or others, take any unnecessary risks, or break any laws when taking your photos. Please note that Slate is not responsible for the content of any external Web sites and/or any personal data you submit to external Web sites, including Flickr. Any use of Flickr will be subject to its terms of use. Please refer to Flickr’s terms of use and privacy policy before submitting any content to the “Shoot the Recession”group on Flickr. To the extent that there is a conflict between these terms and Flickr’s terms of use, the above terms will apply only to Slate’s use of your photo for the purposes set out above.
